Description

From New York Times And USA Today Bestselling Urban Fantasy Paranormal Author, HP Mallory, Comes The Dulcie O’Neil Series!

“H.P. Mallory has a quick wit, a fresh voice, and a clever way with words. If you like Charlaine Harris, you’ll love H.P. Mallory!” ~ Larissa Ione, New York Times Bestselling Urban Fantasy Romance Author

If you like your reads steamy (this is an urban fantasy adult series, not for kids or teens!) and you appreciate a butt-kicking, take no prisoners heroine, read on!

TO KILL A WARLOCK is the first book in the Dulcie O’Neil series:

The murder of a dark arts warlock.
A shape-shifting, ravenous creature on the loose.
A devilishly handsome stranger sent to investigate.
Sometimes working law enforcement for the Netherworld is a real bitch.

Dulcie O’Neil is a fairy. And not the type to frolic in gardens. She’s a Regulator—a law-enforcement agent who monitors the creatures of the Netherworld to keep them from wreaking havoc in the mortal world.

When a warlock is murdered and Dulcie was the last person to see him alive, she must uncover the truth before she’s either deported back to the Netherworld, or she becomes the next victim.

Enter Knight Vander, a sinfully attractive investigator sent from the Netherworld to work the case with Dulcie.

Between battling her attraction to her self-appointed partner, keeping a sadomasochistic demon in check, and fending off the advances of a sexy and powerful vampire, Dulcie’s got her hands full.

As the body count increases, Dulcie finds herself battling dark magic, reconnoitering in S&M clubs and suffering the greatest of all betrayals.

  • Terrible read

I just can't get through this book. I love this genre but, this just drags, and drags. While the title is "to kill a warlock" there isn't anything about killing a warlock, unless I just haven't gotten there, because it's so bad. The protagonist is a female "detective" of "underworld beings (I.E vampires). It's so narcissistic, with each handsome "man" focusing on her body and she focusing on "men" and their hard bodies. There's hardly any detecting or investigating any crime or finding clues, etc. I'm deleting this book. Not good enough to take up my memory on my IPad. It was free so, I thought I would give it a try. If it was good, I would have paid money for the other booksDon't waste your money to read her other books, if they are like this.

I love this book. The main character is two of my favorite things. Funny and sarcastic!

Great book!!!!! Hp Morgan's books have all been wonderful. I love the groups of characters and how they interact with one another. One thing to change though is the cover.

Don't normally read "Paranormal" but really enjoyed this story. Good blend of comedy and action mixed in with the regular genre characters. Looking forward to following Dulcie in the future.
  • A fast-paced good story

The story was fast-paced, and an easy read. It was very enjoyable. The main character, a fairy, it's refreshing and complex. The story has good plot twists and keeps you guessing. The use of magic, magical creatures, and magical lore is new and exciting.

This kept my interest enough to read the whole thing but some blaring mistakes were made throughout it. When werewolves were referred to as wears the author used the word were, which is incorrect for reader fluency. She also started many sentences with "I" which is something fifth graders are taught not to do when writing. Instead of, "I entered the room." the author could write, "Entering the room, I looked around for any signs of movement." or anything else, other than starting with I. The last thing that got me was the telling of things instead of using descriptive writing. There were hints here and there, so I can see the potential, however with as the book stands I won't be footing any money for others in the series based on this ones quality.
